An Old Docs' Club Dinner, and a Lot of History

Last Wednesday evening, I went to an Old Docs' Club dinner and caught up with Dr. Jeff Flier, former Dean of Harvard Medical School and my boss for eight years.

During his deanship, I served as Dean for Academic & Clinical Affairs, and together we worked on faculty development, promotions, and faculty advancement. It was a period of real change at HMS, and I'm proud to have been part of it. One evening with Jeff brought back a flood of memories, and of the people who shared those years with us.

As I finish Radiant, I keep thinking about the colleagues who shaped each chapter of my career. Titles change and the work changes, but the best friendships endure.
