What a wonderful evening at the ASTRO Gold Medal Gala.

Looking around the room, we were reminded of how much of a life in medicine is shaped by other people—mentors who believed in us, colleagues who became friends, patients and families who taught us what truly matters, and the next generation we have the privilege of encouraging.

Those relationships are at the heart of Radiant: A Memoir of Medicine, Mentorship, and What Endures. After so many years in radiation oncology, it was especially meaningful to celebrate with a community that has been such an important part of Nancys own story.

We are grateful for the friendships, the science, the progress—and most of all, the people.
